ABOUT US

Why Meraki?

Meraki is my private home studio in Margate—and I’m so proud to say it’s the first all-equipment studio right here on the waterfront of our beautiful Redcliffe Peninsula.

I created this space to be an inviting sanctuary where you get the high-quality, personalised attention you deserve from a Diploma-qualified instructor. My passion is simple: helping you feel your best through a nurturing community and movement that actually works for your life.

My Journey: From Rollerblades to Pilates

I didn’t just wake up a Pilates devotee! I actually turned to Pilates after a series of injuries. One particular incident involving rollerblades, still makes me shudder at the memory!

During my recovery, I completely fell in love with the practice. It wasn't just that I could feel my body "knitting" back together again, it was that I found a movement modality I truly believed in. I saw benefits in Pilates that I hadn't found anywhere else. I was hooked! The added bonus was realising I could use this passion to help others live well, too.

A Tailored Approach to Movement

I believe in a concentrated approach to practice. Whether you prefer Mat, Private, Duo, or our Small Group Sessions (capped at just 3 people), your session is designed specifically for you. We use a variety of Pilates props and equipment tailored to your body.

If you’re looking for a new challenge, recovering from an injury, or just want to level up your existing routine, I’m here to support you every step of the way.

Why Pilates?

The benefits go so much deeper than just "exercise." We focus on:

  • Core Strength & Stability: Strengthening your abs, back, and glutes for better balance and spinal support.

  • Breath-Led Mobility: Exercises that enhance muscle length and melt away stiffness.

  • Postural Alignment: Learning to breathe effectively and move efficiently so you carry yourself differently in the world.

The Legacy of Contrology

Joseph Pilates (who originally called his method Contrology) believed that physical fitness was the foundation of a happy life. Even though he passed away in 1967, his principles are more relevant today than ever:

  • Precision & Control: Moving with intent to engage the right muscles and stay injury-free.

  • Intentional Breath: Using deep breathing to increase oxygen and support your movement.

  • Mind-Body Connection: Using mental focus to ensure your form and alignment are spot on.

Your Space to Reconnect

I am wholeheartedly committed to making Meraki a space that celebrates your physical, mental, and overall well-being. This is a friendly, inclusive atmosphere where you are always seen and supported.

It’s time to reconnect and focus on you. You deserve to look after yourself.
